He's supposed to be leaving her alone. At least, he's sure that's what he friends want from him. Vanessa herself says it's what she wants, but Stanton knows that's a lie. He doesn't have to be the Prince of Darkness to ferret that on out. All he has to do is catch her glance for half a second.

Vanessa wants him. Has wanted him for some time, and will continue wanting him forever, if Stanton has his way. He's not about to let a little thing like representing literal good and evil get in the way of that.

Which is how he ends up at the throwback night at Planet Bang. Fifties is the theme, and he fits right in - he lived through the decade, after all. For once the place is brightly lit, but Stanton still manages to find a shadow or two to skulk in as he waits for her to arrive.
