There's definitely a feeling of guilt at the look on his face. She doesn't want to hurt him, even if she's hurt. Even if he doesn't seem to get that or care. For a moment, her fingers twitch at his shoulder, wanting to touch them to his face, to really touch him again. "That's not true," Vanessa says softly. She moves into the steps with him just as easily. "I mean, yes, I crave... something. But that's not true about us, Stanton. That's just your excuse."

He has a power that he doesn't need from the Atrox, but she knows him enough to know that he couldn't stay a human. They're the same, she thinks sadly. Because as much as she wants to be normal sometimes, she knows she could never make it.
