"It's been a while since I was last on ice." It's a joke, of course, about his time spent in an iceberg. Steve isn't blind to some of the jokes people have said. His favorite is 'Capsicle'. That one makes him laugh.

The corners of his mouth tilt up in a small smile. The new world has taken some time to get used to, but he's nothing if not adaptive. But there are some things that just can't be beat, like a good time with a pretty girl. Even if Natasha is not really what he'd call a girl.

Definitely pretty though.

He stands up, testing his weight on the ice rink and the feel of the blades on his feet. Before the serum, before the war, he'd tried to go ice skating with Bucky and this date of his. He felt bad for crashing the date, but Bucky and his girl were good about it. He felt doubly bad when they ended up having to lead him around after he'd fallen on his ass a couple of times.

This is different now, though. There's no Bucky, and his ankles are a lot stronger than they used to be. His balance, too.
