Shepard can't imagine what that's like, somebody looking at you and suddenly wanting to know how you tick. And not in the way that you get to know a person, like most normal people. She's asked a lot of questions about his implant, about his migraines, about how he's still here when so many of the others aren't, though. For a doctor, she imagines it's the same.

Except for that part where he's a person.

And probably the part where she repeatedly slammed headfirst into getting to know the person against better - not judgment, but protocol.

"I'm drawing the line at any poking and prodding. We're not here for you to be studied." There's a pause before she gives a soft snort. "I keep forgetting that I'm not in charge here."
