If Kaidan's honest with himself - and he does try to be, most of the time - he has a couple of quiet dreams that involve the two of them and a different sort of life. But that's probably getting way ahead of himself right now, and he knows Shepard well enough not to drop that on her. They have their own kind of commitment, and it doesn't involve any kind of picket fence.

"I wouldn't complain." Kaidan's not sure he'd trust anyone who didn't want either of those things. "But I was thinking more along the lines of private quarters. Not that the horticulture room isn't doing its best right now."

As if in response, one of the automatic misters goes off. It's sort of pleasant, the cool spray settling over his face, but real privacy and a bed would definitely one up it.
