[ He is content to wade, treading water in place. It's a wonderful thing, watching Persephne swim around like that. It's like seeing her at her very best, at her most natural.

It isn't very often that a dumbfounded look crosses his very serious features and this misty eyed expression may be the closest thing to it. The moment hardly lasts a second because he has already picked up the pace, catching up to her without a hitch. ]

You are beautiful and incorrigible, you know that?

[ But of course she does. ]

[soughs]

[Of course, Persy let's him catch up to her. Here? She can go anywhere in the water in the blink of an eye, probably. But honestly, she'd rather be with him. Be together.

A smirk plays on her face as one shoulder lifts in a shrug.] Come on, you know you like both of those things about me.

[excusing]

[ And that is a whole lot of pressure for a teenage girl. There should be a dose of normalcy for anyone, even living under these circumstances. It's why Heather often acts the way she does, occasionally getting herself into trouble because she misses how that feels. ]

You maybe should smile more. [ She tries to make that sound like a compliment, as opposed to criticism, or, worse, a command. ] It's good on you.

[dutysexual]

I don't have a lot of reasons to smile. [It's both easy enough to confess, and hard at the same time. But she trusts that Heather isn't going to talk about her once this conversation is over.]

You think so? [Compliments are also something that never happens often with Reyna these days.]

[ Being underwater always reminds him of their first kiss, not that Avery makes a habit of being sentimental, but it's a thought he keeps with him whenever it happens.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from rolling his eyes at Persy. ] Today, yes. Other times, it's hard to say. [ With a grin of his own, he briefly bobs underwater to wet his hair. ]

[excusing]

I get that the job's not easy. But you have everyone's respect now, so. You know, it's good to let your hair down, or whatever.

[ Master of letting one's hair down, this one is. She would not mind at all, being of assistance, only if asked. ] This's a good start, anyway. [ Meaning the walk, though she might add that the flirting part was good too. ]

[It doesn't matter the starter, Hazel's an avid listener, especially when it comes to Frank. She offers a tentative smile of her own, curious.]

Elephants can paint? [She pauses, considering.] With their trunk? [It doesn't even really occur to her to disbelieve him.]

Oh, yeah! Elephants are really smart. I bet if they gave Hannibal a paintbrush, he could whip up a masterpiece. [Uguu Hannibal, uguu.

Frank nods though.] They use it like a little hand. It'd be kind of hard to paint otherwise.

[soughs]

[She makes a face at Avery. Of course he's joking, but she still attempts to look like she's hurt.] Hard to say? That's kind of mean, don't you think? [She swims around him again, splashing a bit.] I like you even when you're mean.

[amageing]

[ right. never happened 8| especially not with Wynne standing like, right there.

her smile goes a little sad, at that. demons were never really a joking matter, but with the damage they've inflicted to the Circles lately, it was a more touchy subject than most ] I understand.

[ that catches her off-guard, and Solona's foot freezes mid-step to look at him ]

Out to eat? [ spoken as if he had just said something to her in Orlesian. ]

Are you sure?

[There's a snort at that, and Reyna shoots Heather a look that says something like, "Gurl, no."] In order to keep respect, I have to continue on the same path that I'm on. There's no real way to bend here, one way or the other.

[She glances at the ground, briefly.] Are you suggesting that I walk with all of the legion?

[noleniency]

[Even before all of this, joking about demons would likely have been in bad taste in his eyes. He nods, though, when she says that she understands.

There's a pause then. He's caught the Here of Ferelden by surprise. A pathetic templar in barely a name-only sort of way. There's a definite smile on his face now.]

Am I sure that you are in need of food? Yes. Nobody can survive the way you have, not even you.

[glaux]

The truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it?

[ Of course he has to splash her back because he can't help but feed off her playful energy. And quickly, he swims backwards, away from her, with a teasing grin on his face. That's a smile reserved for Persy Jackson only. ]

You like me every day, regardless of whether I'm mean or not.

[excusing]

Okay, not saying that you should act totally unprofessional or - walk with everyone separately.

I know I'd like a leader who commanded my respect, but, like, also knew a thing or two about me, or made an attempt to, even if they didn't remember all the little facts. [ She clucks her tongue, frustrated. ] I don't think I'm saying it right.

[amageing]

[ it sounds bad even as she says it, but Amell's social graces always were subservient for her curiosity ]

-are you sure you want to take me? [ why is she sounding like a girl again, asking why he's stuttering. Solona clears her throat awkwardly ]

A mage and a templar usually don't...associate outside of Circle duties.

[ such things had never bothered her, not even now, with the two groups balancing on the precipice around each other. but for cullen, it might. ]

[Hazel pauses for a moment, to imagine the sight of a trunk holding a paintbrush.] Have you ever seen one do it?

Yes? [But her questioning it is making him question it as well, and there's a look of uncertainty on his face as he says the words. He means to be firm. Eating is not anything serious. Not dangerous.]

This isn't much of a Circle anymore, and you're not particularly a mage. You're a Warden.

[See? Loopholes.]

[soughs]

[Oh, no he doesn't. Swimming away from her definitely isn't in the plan, and she swims toward him casually.] Only when it's being used against me. Truth is a good thing to have.

[Persy smiles back.] I love you every day, there's a difference.

It'd probably be a lot of round circles if he did. [Because he's big and round, right? Ahahaha...ha...a...] Or maybe he'd draw me as another elephant. That'd be cool.

[Frank shakes his head.] Not in person. Just in pictures, and on TV before.

[amageing]

You mean I'm not just a mage. [ she smiles just a little sadly ] It doesn't...go away.

[ and now she's going down a path she knows she shouldn't, making a simple invitation into something it wasn't meant to be. Solona shakes her head, gives the vellum a shake just to be sure the ink is completely off, and orders her thoughts to refocus ]

Lunch, would be much appreciated I think.

[ she gives what she hopes is her best reassuring and friendly grin ]

Lunch and maybe some ale.

[ That warms him from the inside out, even as he cautiously keeps his pace, swimming parallel to the shore. Briefly, he dips below the surfae to rewet his hair, as the curls dry quickly under the heat of the sun. ]

I do admit that I love you just as much, and I love teasing you almost equally.

[ He grins and sinks underwater again. ]

[Reyna shakes her head.] No, I think I understand your point. [She's quiet for a moment.] I know things about you all. Facts, small details. But I'm not sure if that's what you mean, exactly.

[noleniency]

I know it doesn't. [A sigh.] But anyone could just look at you and see that you are more than a mere mage.

[It's an awkward compliment, and he shifts somewhat, feeling uncomfortable. Feeling like a young man again. Not that he has gained a world more experience since that time.]

An ale seems more than appropriate. [He feels like he's going to need it.]

[soughs]

[If anyone had told Persephone a few years ago that Avery had a teasing side, that he was more than just brains and logic and being better than everyone else, she wouldn't have believed them. She would have laughed.

But there's a curl of warmth that settles inside of her and spreads out at his words. He loves her just as much, and Persy has no idea how this has happened.

Blue eyes bright, she dips under the water when he does, tugging him toward her by his hand so that she can kiss him again. It's longer, sweeter, and she makes sure to wrap them in an air bubbles. Just in case.]
