[ That warms him from the inside out, even as he cautiously keeps his pace, swimming parallel to the shore. Briefly, he dips below the surfae to rewet his hair, as the curls dry quickly under the heat of the sun. ]

I do admit that I love you just as much, and I love teasing you almost equally.

[ He grins and sinks underwater again. ]

[soughs]

[If anyone had told Persephone a few years ago that Avery had a teasing side, that he was more than just brains and logic and being better than everyone else, she wouldn't have believed them. She would have laughed.

But there's a curl of warmth that settles inside of her and spreads out at his words. He loves her just as much, and Persy has no idea how this has happened.

Blue eyes bright, she dips under the water when he does, tugging him toward her by his hand so that she can kiss him again. It's longer, sweeter, and she makes sure to wrap them in an air bubbles. Just in case.]

[glaux]

[ It's good for his health, being around someone who can crack his often dour mask. He knows he is capable of being intense and intimidating, struggling for respect because he worries no one takes pretty boys seriously.

It's safe to say the the ratio of frowning to smiling at Persy is an even one. He reaches to sweep her hair away from her cheek, nudging her lips apart when he kisses her, even chuckling because underwater kisses will always have a soft spot in his memory. ]

[soughs]

[That's something that Persy doesn't worry about. She's loud and ridiculous and tosses herself into situations that are insane. If she worried about people not taking the daughter of Poseidon seriously, she wouldn't have gotten very far.

One arm wraps around his waist, holding him close to her. Her lips part when he nudges, breathing him in. This is perfect. They're perfect.]

[glaux]

[ It takes a long time before Avery breaks for air. (And thank the gods for those underwater air bubbles.)

Taking a page out of her book for once - though he would claim to be well-versed in the ways of Persephone Jackson - he dips down and actually blows a raspberry over her stomach just to get a rise out of her. Even if the action itself is out of character for Avery, the intentions are most certainly not. ]

[soughs]

[Avery's dipping down, and for a moment, there are a thousand things flashing through Persy's head, and not all of them are very clean, if you know what I mean. But then his mouth is on her bare stomach, blowing, and she laughs, gripping his shoulders.]

Avery! [She pushes away from him.]

[glaux]

Yes?

[ Oh, no you don't. He grins and catches her around the waist before she can make another move. Avery lifts his head a little higher and ever to lightly kiss between her rib before blowing another raspberry there. So he likes to make Persy squirm. Call it a not-so-guilty pleasure of his. ]

[soughs]

[It doesn't help that she's ticklish, and he seems to find every place that's sensitive. It's cute, really, and oddly hot. There are times when dating someone like Avery is insanely challenging, but Persy wouldn't trade a second of it for anything, not even the sake of the world.

She laughs again.] Stop, stop! You win. I give up.

[glaux]

[ After years of friendship and eventual attraction, it makes worlds of sense to him that they would end up like this. (The only annoying thing about it was how smug most of the camp seemed when they first acknowledged coupledom.) He knows her well enough to know exactly where to tickle and what makes her squirm. Even when affectionate, he has a plan - typical.

He grins proudly, though his tone is innocent. ] I didn't know we were competing.

[soughs]

[That's the problem with dating your best friend - they already know all the secret places that they can get to. It's less exploration and more 'so how can I use this against you?' And Avery's good at that. Not using so much as having a plan of action.

It keeps Persy on her toes.

She squints at him.] Yeah, right. You totally make things into a competition.
