It's stupid. It's a stupid reaction to have, but she can't help the way her breathing just sort of stills when he starts tapping at her hand like that. It's not invasive, not objectifying. He's just curious, and acting on that curiosity with the same easy acceptance he seems to do everything else. When it comes to her, at least.
Cinder doesn't think she's ever been so wholly accepted by anyone except Iko before. So when she remembers to start breathing again, she leaves her hand where it is and lets him tap. "I met you when I was breaking out of prison, and you decided to come along," she points out instead. "You're a giant neon flashing sign of trouble. What I don't understand is how you managed to steal so many things."
He get nudged in the leg (with her human foot) for that stupid joke. "You won't be blind for much longer. Where does that leave me?"
