[When Frank was a kid, his mom used to tell him about different fairy tales and myths from around the world - one place of origin was never enough. Some kids grew up on Cinderella and Hercules; Frank grew up on the Faithful Tiger and The Elephant and the Monkey.

Elephants were a special favorite of his mom's, and he thinks that might have been a large part as to why he bonded with Hannibal as well as he did when back at Camp Jupiter, besides the whole not being judged by an elephant thing. It might be why that's the shape he's the most comfortable in, why they're probably his favorite animal.

He misses his mom suddenly. Actually, he misses her all the time, but this is the first time he's had to think about her in awhile, considering the messes him and the others have found themselves in.

Glancing at Hazel next to him on the deck of the Argo II, he smiles.]

Did you know that elephants have paintings sold all the time? [The most random conversation starter, but whatever.] They like to paint.

[It doesn't matter the starter, Hazel's an avid listener, especially when it comes to Frank. She offers a tentative smile of her own, curious.]

Elephants can paint? [She pauses, considering.] With their trunk? [It doesn't even really occur to her to disbelieve him.]

Oh, yeah! Elephants are really smart. I bet if they gave Hannibal a paintbrush, he could whip up a masterpiece. [Uguu Hannibal, uguu.

Frank nods though.] They use it like a little hand. It'd be kind of hard to paint otherwise.

[Her smile deepens over the thought of Hannibal painting.] We should try, when we get back to Camp. [Not an if. A when. She needs to be optimistic.] I wonder if he'd paint a picture of you.

[Hazel pauses for a moment, to imagine the sight of a trunk holding a paintbrush.] Have you ever seen one do it?

It'd probably be a lot of round circles if he did. [Because he's big and round, right? Ahahaha...ha...a...] Or maybe he'd draw me as another elephant. That'd be cool.

[Frank shakes his head.] Not in person. Just in pictures, and on TV before.

[intrepidus]

We all probably look like round circles to an elephant. [She holds back a giggle though, because elephant!Frank is the best.] I'd like to see that painting.

[She nods.] Could you find me pictures sometime? I think I'd like to see that - I mean, if we can't get Hannibal to.

[asanox]

[He smiles at that, because hey. It makes him feel better a little bit.] You'd - you'd be a really pretty round circle though, Hazel. [Totally not blushing, nope.] Me too.

Yes! Definitely. When we're done, that'll be the first thing I do. [For Hazel. Because he... wants to believe he's going to get out of this with his life intact at least.]

[intrepidus]

[She beams, her cheeks turning a little red.] Maybe just one with more hair.

[Then her face lights up!!] More likely the second thing. A good night's sleep will probably be on the venue for all of us.

[She's so cute when she blushes, why.....] Pretty hair.

[Who let him talk though, seriously? How did he even get Hazel? He has zero game.]

Okay, second thing it is. Sleep is important. [Nope, getting elephant pictures for Hazel is, but he's not going to just say that out loud.]

[intrepidus]

[Oh wow welp her cheeks sure do get even redder.] Frank. [But she's smiling?? At least she's not fanning her face; she's more just... flattered, with fuzzy feelings in her stomach, even if it doesn't stop her from being mildly admonishing.]

[She nods, with certainty. That's what he may be thinking, but Hazel will fight him on this when the time comes 8|] I don't want you to doze off on any elephants.

[asanox]

Hazel. [He gives her a big grin for that smile, even as he shifts awkwardly and tries to not blush himself. Is he blushing? Wait, yeah. The way his face heats up, he's definitely blushing.]

I won't doze off on any elephants, I promise. [He makes an 'x' over his heart.]

[intrepidus]

[Hazel tries really hard not to laugh at the way he says her name and the way he grins himself, but she does, letting out a short giggle and covering her mouth with one hand in the process. He's kind of basically adorable, and if she wasn't feeling so flustered right now, she'd probably hug him.] You're so... [Yeah she's not nothing.]

[Her face softens.] I wonder how easy it would be to sleep on one, though.
