[He tries to not think about it, not when his nights are already full of thoughts of Tartarus, of pain and fear and things he doesn't really think have words.]

Doesn't it boil down to 'everywhere'? [He says it teasingly, nudging her a bit.] Okay, then I'll look into a boat. [That can't be too hard to do, right? Maybe he should ask his mom...]

[allnerves]

Of course it means everywhere, but you can't really do everywhere without some organization.

[ She rolls her eyes because, duh, Percy, you can't be totally impulsive when it comes to world exploration. Besides, she'll leave room for off the road discoveries. Chuckling, she just nudges him in return. ]

[brashy]

Of course not. It's not like we've ever done anything without organization before. I kind of like fall- [He stops himself, and a dark look passes over his face before he tugs on a smile, even thought it's tight at the corners.] When we just find ourselves on an adventure.

[Falling is totally bad now. No more falling.

He nudges her back.

Also being impulsive is the best.]

[allnerves]

[ Yes, yes, wise choice to change the phrasing. Annabeth relaxes again. No falling. Avoiding volcanoes and rifts in the ground, shifts in tectonic plates, no flying. Should they stick to port side cities and towns? ]

How about a vague outline instead of a full out agenda?

[brashy]

[They can stick to wherever Annabeth likes. As long as no flying is definitely involved.

He nuzzles his face into her neck, breathing her in.] I like vague outlines. We can make up our own details then.

[allnerves]

[ Maybe a trip to the Mediterranean and they can take a good look at the Parthenon, pay their respects to their parents. Percy can feast on real Greek food. Then - where else? China, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Australia. See the Great Wall, the Sydney Opera House ...

Annabeth sits up taller, wrapping her arms around his shoulder, kissing the top of his head so he can rest his head in the crook of her neck. ]

Exactly. [ The distant voice, as he knows very well now, means that she's deep in thought. ]

[brashy]

[A look that doesn't involve what it did before. The pain, the fighting. Actual exploration. That's something Percy could get behind, as long as they were together.

He stays like that for a moment, Annabeth's arms around him, his arm snaking around her waist to tug her closer to him.

There's a smile at her tone, the one that says she's probably planning anyway. He's fine with that. It's what makes her Annabeth, and he likes the familiarity of it all. He presses his lips to her neck in a soft kiss.] You're filling in that outline, aren't you?

[allnerves]

[ She smiles into his hair, drawn back into their conversation at the sound of his voice. ]

Of course I am. [ It's a pleasant train of thought. She often forgets how old they are most days, but if they can take on the worst, then surely no one can hold them back from this. ]

Looks like the sun's about to set.

[brashy]

[He gives a mock sigh, pulling back so that he can look at her instead.] You know I'm probably just going to ruin it, right? Just so that we're on the same page and all.

[He glances away from her - reluctantly - to look at the way the sun hits the water, orange reflecting on blue.] Which means we'll probably have to head back soon.

[allnerves]

Unfortunately. [ Knowing he would be eating a few tables away, sleeping a few cabins away, wasn't enough of a comfort for her. ]

Oh, and I'm about five steps ahead of you. I'm making room for alternate routes as we speak.

[ She smiles again and steals a kiss, not yet prepared to leave their cozy spot. ]

[brashy]

They can handle a few more minutes without us. [He's not ready to be too apart from her yet, arm tightening around her. Nope nope nope, can't have his Annabeth.]

Of course you are. I should have known that. [There's a laugh now, that gets swallowed by the kiss he doesn't hesitate to return, breathing her in. This moment is perfect.]

[allnerves]

[ His nose gets a boop when she parts for air. And she laughs again because it simply feels good to have a reason to do so. ]

I think, deep down, you did know that. [ He said so himself to never underestimate her. She has yet to see him do so, at least since they first became close. ]

[brashy]

[He makes a bit of a face, both at the booping and the breaking of the kiss. But then Annabeth is laughing, and it's the most beautiful sound in the world. Better than the ocean. Better than anything.]

I did. [His tone is soft, words barely a whisper.] Because I know you. [He leans in again, lips brushing over hers as he talks.] I know you completely, Annabeth.

[allnerves]

You do. [ And it's not crazy or stupid. Just because they're young does not invalidate the realness of what they have. It is special, regardless of how some overuse and misuse that word. The layers upon layers of history between them are meaningful and she loves that he knows her, inside and out, in the only way Percy can.

She reaches up to push some of his hair away from his forehead, just looking, wanting to remembering in this moment. She does this from time to time, capturing snapshots of him in her mind. ] We should go.

[brashy]

[They've been together for so long, as friends, as a deeper relationship. They've saved the world together and nearly watched it end. They braved the worst place in the universe together and came out of it alive. Even if a little more broken for it. But they're alive and together, and that's all that Percy has wanted out of life.

His eyes search her own storm gray ones, a soft smile on his face. And then he groans.] A few more minutes. They won't even notice.
