[Derek's had control over his wolf form for a long time now, years. Maybe ever since Paige. Becoming an alpha helps, though, he realizes as he stalks around the woods on the night of the full moon. It feels good, letting go a bit. He doesn't get to have this kind of release often anymore.

Ever.

His eyes flash red in the moonlight as his run comes to a stop, head lifting in the air. He takes a deep breath. There's something here. Another wolf. Not a scent he recognizes.

That's never any good.]

[untames]

[ Vivian tears through the woods, a laugh in her howl. Blessed moon, thank you for giving her this opportunity for an escape. She runs away from pack duties and scared human boys. She does not want to be their queen, not today.

The long bus ride west was spent sleeping, curled in a row of her own with her backpack as a pillow and her suitcase overhead. Upon checking in with a distant relative (a friend of Uncle Rudy's), she takes off to explore.

The wolf skids to a stop when a scent catches her attention and she lifts her snout. Who goes there? ]

[tsunderek]

[A wolf. Another wolf. How many of them are going to converge into Beacon Hills anyway? It's going to make them even more obvious at this point. Nothing in this town is going to be kept a secret for long.

He gives a growling huff, torn between approaching and just leaving.]

Who's there?

[ Let her tell you about her pack problems, wolf man. Silly girl, thinking she could escape the mess southeast. Trouble will always wolves since Homo sapiens rule the earth now.

A wolf, larger than a normal wolf, emerges from behind the tree. She keeps her snout lowered, though her eyes as fixed on this -- is he caught between forms? Her tail remains stiff, though she does cant her head to the side, sniffing and observing. She means no quarrel here. ]

[tsunderek]

[It's a wolf that is... definitely unlike himself and the others, and he wonders if maybe he's seeing things. Hallucinating, gave in too much to the full moon this month.

Derek remains where he is, jaw clenched tight. He doesn't like new things. You know what that means? Trouble. Lots of trouble.]

Whoever you are, you don't belong here. [Yeah. That's super effective, Derek, good job. A+.]

[ I know, she seems to say, opening her snout to grin, panting lightly. She means no harm - unless he makes a move. Surely he must be smarter than that.

No way is she showing him her belly, but she does give an air of friendliness, waggling her tail with a little bark. Come on, halfling, she would chuckle if she had words at the moment. Instead she drops down on her front legs, sticking her very fine canine tush in the air. ]

[tsunderek]

[There's a snort from him at the wolfish grin, despite himself. He's not going to make a move. There's no threat unless she makes herself one, at the very least. And he isn't exactly territorial. He just has a pack of stupid teenagers to protect.

Derek crouches, a slight smirk on his face. Yeah, okay. He can play this game, too.]

[ Now that she has an opening, Vivian pads forward, sniffing the ground around him before she turns her sharp snout in his direction, figuring out who this stranger is. The perk of being away from pack pressures is that she can do as she pleases - not that this truly stopped her in the first place.

You smell good, she decides amusedly, grinning again until she nudges his leg with her nose, playing the part of a friendly stray. Which, in a way, she is nowadays. ]
