Marian sighs, a little dramatically, when Fenris steps away from here. What's a little PDA amongst friends? Not that the general populace of Kirkwall really counts as her friends.

"You are so romantic," she says dryly. "For the sake of not causing mass panic, I think I'll stick to the usual way of doing things."

Fenris doesn't have friends. Except for Hawke. And maybe Varric and Aveline. And Sebastian. And Donnic. Sometimes Isabela. But he wouldn't want to kiss in front of them either.

"I wasn't aware that you were seeking romance," he says with an arched brow, that smirk returning to his lips. "But I can attempt something that suits your needs more properly, if that is your desire, Hawke."

She raises her eyebrows right back. "I would be more than happy to see your attempts at suiting my needs, Fenris." And she's just going to walk past him, heading back towards Hightown. That typical sway is in her step as she smiles at him over her shoulder. "Are you coming?"

Fenris shakes his head, returning his sword to his back, still disregarding the blood staining the blade. He'll clean it later, before it can ruin the integrity of the metal. Besides, there's something a little bit more important than that, if the swing of her hips is anything to go by. "I wouldn't dare stay away. I have seen what you can do with a sword."

Marian's expression turns delighted in that way that means she's about to open her mouth and say something absolutely terrible. "Oh, I wouldn't be too worried about my skills. Your skills with a 'sword' are definitely impressive enough."

Fenris just gives her a flat look in return, voice deadpan. He should have known that she was going to go that route. "Your skills don't worry me, Hawke. I've enjoyed the way you have... handled my sword."

Shades descend. Aw yeah.

Her delight doesn't fade at all with that flat look, and then he replies in kind and she laughs out loud. It covers the way she limps slightly, a wound above her knee making itself known as the adrenaline runs out. Arrows, honestly. "I do aim to please."

This isn't Skyrim, Hawke. Maker help us.

Still, Fenris is distracted by the way she sounds when she laughs, by her humor, to notice immediately that she's limping. He'll beat himself up over that later. "You have done well with me, in that case. In more ways than just the matter of sex."

In case she might get the idea that he only wanted that from her.

Considering how he left after the first time they banged, she'd figured it wasn't that which had bought him back. She could tease him back, but her smile softened slightly. "Coming from you, that was almost sweet." She touches his shoulder, a gentle sign of affection. "I'm glad you think so."

With the back of his hand, careful of his gloves, he strokes her cheek gently in return. "Only around you, Hawke." Got that rep to protect and keep up, after all. Nobody needs to know his secret soft side. "Good. It's important that you know."

Oh. That's quite...emotional. Marian opens her mouth slightly and then clears her throat. "All right, enough of that before I jump you in the middle of the street." She winces as her leg buckles, just a bit. "Or...hobble at you, as the case may be."

"Hawke." He reacts quickly, wrapping an arm around her waist to catch her, supporting her. "Why didn't you tell me that you were injured?"

She pushes at his arm a little, but gives in quickly because - well. It's a nice arm, and she likes having it around her. "An injury? This? Please, it's really more of a scrape. A scratch, even. Nothing to be concerned about." She considers this for a moment. "Although now that I think about it, walking may be too difficult in this weakened state of mine. I may need to be carried."

He gives her a look, torn between smiling and having the desire to roll his eyes at her. "That was a quick turn around of your physical state, Hawke. Perhaps I should take you to a clinic as well, so that a healer could help you." But not Anders. Fuck that guy.

Still, he only hesitates briefly before scooping her up in his arms to carry her. Look, he doesn't mind doing that, even if she's lying.

"I'm a complicated woman," she announces, laughing again as he actually picked her up. "Mysterious, even. My, Fenris, what strong arms you have."

"Complicated, yes, but I would disagree with mysterious." You're not that hard to understand once somebody knows you, Hawke. Just saying. "Is this something you have just noticed?"

"What!" Mock outrage steals over her features, but is ruined by the fact that Marian has the worst time keeping a smirk off her face. "Hundreds of Varric's avid readers around Kirkwall would be destroyed if they heard you say that. And no, but it is the first time I've had the change to act like a fainting damsel in the face of them. Let me enjoy my moment."

[magicalfisting]

That smirk is beautiful in so many different ways. He'd like to kiss it from her face, though. "I find it hard to care whether they would be destroyed by this news or not. If it helps, the mystery ebbs as I have gotten to know you. I'm at an advantage they can never have." He chuckles. "Very well. You may enjoy the moment and any other you want."

"You lack of concern for the general public is...not concerning at all, really. Rather refreshing, now that I think of it." She rests her head against his shoulder, making a pleased sound at hearing him chuckle. That voice should be illegal. "I fully intend to."

Oh look it's the mansion.

"I leave the caring to you, since you are clearly so interested in the public as a whole," he says dryly. Because well, Hawke. You never say no. They come to you, and you don't say no. He glances down at her with a smile. She's cute when she is pretending to be helpless.

Fenris opens to the door to her homestead easily enough, even with her in his arms, ignoring the chatter of the staff as he moves to place her on a bench. "Let me see where you were wounded."

"If I wasn't so interested in the public as a whole, there wouldn't be a public to be interested in," she replies dryly, but with a certain conviction. Things do have a tendency to become messy without her to intervene. She is neatly avoiding the fact that she's usually the one who made an intervention necessary in the first place.

She relaxes just slightly when they make it home. She could have fought if she'd had to, of course, but she's glad they didn't have to. "So forward, Fenris!" But she indicates the area above her knee. She'd tugged the arrow out, which in hindsight, maybe hadn't been the best idea. But it had been getting in the way.

The smile turns wry on his face, but she's right, and for that alone, he appreciates everything that she does and stands for. Not that he necessarily agrees with her all of the time - especially in consideration to the mages - but he likes that she doesn't back down. "There are a few in Kirkwall I could do less of," he mutters in reply.

Gently, he moves her leg to examine the area above her knee. "I am about to be more forward and ask if you could remove your pants." He's not a healer, but he wants to be able to take care of her before having to concede to taking her to Anders, if it's that bad.

She groans, letting her head fall back. "You and I both. Sometimes I dream about telling Meredith that Orsino cursed her bloomers pink and watching it all fall to chaos around me."

That gets a chuckle out of her, lifting her head back up to give him a lazy grin. "Careful, now. I may swoon. I doubt you will." Her hands go to her breeches, fingers working the laces and easing the pants down her legs with a faint hiss as the material drags over the wound.

"I would think Meredith would have more sense than to believe such a ridiculous lie, especially if it was coming from you." Meredith is a no-nonsense woman, even if she is a little... unhinged. Even Fenris can see that.

He smiles back, though his eyes remain dark with concern. "Hawke. What made you think that you could walk with such a wound?" There isn't much in the way of blood, which he's thankful for. "It does not seem to be too severe. A poultice should help. And bandages."

"Honestly, at this point I have my doubts about it being a lie. They're both like ridiculously overpowered children with Kirkwall as their toy."

She wins a smile, and makes a pleased hum in the back of her throat because of it. "The fact that I didn't fall over may have had something to do with it." She winks at him, in spite of the pain in her leg. "Kinky."
